Redo: Sewing Cabinet

I got this sewing cabinet from my MIL and
 decided I wanted to spruce it up.

I started by removing the hardware and doors.

Then I proceeded to sand it. I am not much of a sander but my husband suggested sanding to get rid of the varathane. 
This way, the paint will stick to the wood better.

I then primed with Kilz and here is where I am at:

I am torn. Should I go stark white like Holly at
  Life In the Fun Lane? 

How about a fun color like Kara's Korner.

I should mention that it is going in a room that has one really bright hot pink wall. I do like the idea of bringing in a second color such as aqua. Although black would look nice.

I am also toying with the idea of painting inside. What ado?
